The problem of designing an appropriate integrated logistics network structure for a hybrid manufacturing/remanufacturing system was investigated. Considering the integration of facilities and combined transportation of forward and reverse logistics in the network as well as the randomicity of the demanded quantities of products and the returned quantities of used products, a two--stage stochastic expected model with recourse was developed for designing such a network. Accordingly, the number of various facilities, their locations and the reasonable allocation of the corresponding goods flows within the network can be decided upon. The objective is to minimize the net cost over the planning horizon. Finally, the validity of the model was illustrated by a numerical example.
