Radiation protection of non-human species is an important extension of radiation protection. This articale established a framework including a source term, exposure pathway, source of radionuclide, dose estimation and comparison with the release limit of non-human species. Selected four reference organisms of Penaeus, Scapharca subcrenata, Sparus macrocephalus and Chlorella on the basis of the international reference biological selection criteria, established dosimetry model, and used the software of DOE GRADED, EU ERICA and Monte-Carlo method to calculate the human species dose rate and assessed the radiation environment of Daya Bay.
