The realization of lean combustion and combustion modification strategy of 465 gasoline engine are investigated in the paper. With the tumble motion in the cylinder, and using suitable injecting strategy in port, homogeneous lean combustion is realized. The lean burn limit at different load can get 21～22. So the engine has a high lean ability. The characteristic of gasoline engine lean combustion emission is analyzed： NO.emission will rise at first and then drop, and HC and CO emission reduce. Through controlling air fuel ratio, the NO.emission may reduce.
