Single crystal of salicylaldehyde 1-aminohydantoin has been preparedin the mixture of methanol and glacial acetic acid. Its single crystal structure was determined by X–ray diffraction analysis. The title compound is a supramolecular compound denpends on intermolecular hydrogen bonds and formed 3-D space layered structure. Salicylaldehyde 1-aminhydantoinare competent tocoordinate with metal ions,since all ofoxygen atoms and nitrogen atoms in Salicylaldehyde 1-aminhydantoin have lone pair electrons. We havesynthesized four kinds of transition metal complexes with salicylaldehyde 1-aminohydantoin,and their structures wascharacterized by element analysis,IR and UV spectra.
