Based on the challenges of the review of data deluge, this paper investigates the characteristics and tasks of digital curation and its lifecycle management model, as well as analyzes the relationship and difference between curation and preservation. The paper puts forward that digital preservation is the premise and foundation of digital curation; digital curation is the transforma- tion and sublimation of digital preservation. Finally, the paper discusses the issues in the exploration and innovation of management mechanism and technology roadmap, which should be concerned in this transformation.
