A rare earth complex[Er(NO3)3(phen)2] was synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.The antibacterial activities of phen and the complex have been investigated.The interaction between the complex and DNA has been studied by electronic absorption spectroscopy,fluorescence spectroscopy and viscosity measurements.All results indicated that the interaction mode of the complex and DNA includes groove binding and partial intercalation.
