The author describes the feasibility of methanol as alternative for diesel fuel in terms of productive resources, availability, transportation as well as impacts on pollutant and greenhouse gases emissions while DMCC applied to diesel engines. This indicates that replacement of diesel fuel with methanol is not only beneficial to releasing diesel fuel tight supply in the market, but also to adjusting the ratio of diesel to gasoline. Meanwhile, promoting methanol as alternative to substitute for diesel is also beneficial to the energy developing strategy with multiple development and self reliance.
