The multifunctional thermal barrier stuffing was prepared by multilayer coating diatomite with transition metal oxide（Fe2O3,CuO and MnO）,silicon dioxide and titanic oxide.X ray diffraction（XRD） and scanning electron microscope（SEM） analysis shown that the stuffing has a integrity structure.The waterborne coating was prepared by using this multifunctional thermal barrier stuffing as filler and waterborne acrylic acid emulsion as base material.The obtained composite insulation coating has a good thermal insulation property and its construction is convenient.
