One of the key technologies of multi-projector display systems for large screen is the alignment of the projectors. In this paper, we proposed a simple, fast, highly precise approach of geometric alignment based on the principle of inverse fringe projection. Only one camera is necessary to this approach. And there is no need to calibrate the camera or projectors. The screen needs not to be flat either. After the phase measurement of the screen by projecting the sine fringes, the geometric relationships between projectors and camera are identified. According to these relationships and the wanted image, pre-adjusted images for each projector are generated. When these images are projected on the screen, an image identical to the wanted image is observed in the direction of the camera. A sub-pixel accuracy of alignment can be achieved.
