IL-22 is a new type of cytokine, which is closely related to multiple autoimmune diseases and chronic inflammatory, diseases. Recently, the research of IL-22 achieved new developments in cardiovascular diseases. IL-22 has close correlation with the progression and prognosis of atherosclerosis, viral myocarditis and heart failure. In this paper, we review the research progress of IL-22 in cardiovascular diseases.
