At present, the constraint of resources and environment in China＇s grain production has been emerged; the residents＇ consumption structure has been upgraded rapidly; the unbalance of regional demand and supply has been intensified; the comparative advantage has kept low; the penetration of international market and investment have been enhanced. All these changes are affecting the pattern of China＇s grain supply and demand and making China＇s grain production face new challenges. Confronting with the new situation, in the process of grain production, Chinese government should further improve the supporting policy system of grain＇s production, strengthen sci-tech research and services, enhance the development and innovation in new varieties, optimize the lay-out of grain production region, perfect compensation mechanism of main producing areas, and tamp the foundation of ensuring grain supply; for the consumption circulation process, guide residents＇ consumption scientifically, deepen market-oriented reform of grain, deal with the relationship between ＂two markets＂, establish monitoring and early warning system, and elevate the judging ability to the situation of food safety.
