A video surveillance system for PC-based digital video recorder was introduced in this paper.The architecture of the system was given,and the main functions of the video surveillance system were also presented,including video previewing,video recording and playing back,as well as the electrical map,motion detection and occlusion.The design and implementation of the support of devices from diverse corporations were introduced in the paper.Optimization of the performance of the system was also discussed and given.The designed system has friendly man-machine interface,perfect functions and favourable expansibility,and thus can be easily learn and used.This system works well and steadly in the real applications.
