Keratin- associated protein （KAP） is one of the major structural protein, it determines the hair characteristics with keratin. In recent years, many studies have found that genetic diversity of KAP have a significant correlation with economic traits （cashmere fineness, weight）of cashmere goat. This article describes the relationship that composition of cashmere goat hair follicle KAP and the genetic polymorphism with cashmere traits and research progress.
