Under the background of the huge market demand,the guide of the technical research results about bar and wire rod,and the fierce competition owing to the overcapacity,the bar and wire rod rolling technologies developed very quickly towards the direction of saving energy and reducing cost in China.The typical energy-saving lowcost bar and rod rolling technologies included the development technology of the products with low cost and high performance,the energy-conserved technology such as direct rolling without heating for bar and wire rod,the multislit rolling technology,the lower temperature rolling technology,the grooveless rolling technologyand the endless rolling technology.Some suggestions for the future development of bar and wire rod rolling technology was put forward.
