光线在水下传播过程中,它的失真程度会随波长不同而发生改变。导致水下图像视觉质量下降的3个主要原因是吸收、散射和颜色失真。有关水下图像处理的研究在近十几年来得到了广泛的关注,取得了重要进展。文中着重讨论水下图像增强处理技术,探讨其中的典型算法和研究成果,对部分算法的测试结果进行定性和定量分析比较,最后总结水下图像增强技术研究现状,并展望了未来可能的发展方向。
When traveling through water, light rays are distorted according to different wavelengths. Absorption, scattering and color distortion are the three major reasons for the decrease of visual quality of underwater images. The research field of underwater image processing has received considerable attention in the last decade, obtaining important achievements. This paper focuses on recent enhancement-based underwater image techniques, and presents some typical algorithms and research results, with qualitative and quantitative evaluation conducted on the testing results from a portion of algorithms. Finally, it summarizes the research progress of underwater image enhancement methods and proposes future research directions.
