Protein kinase Cγ（PKCγ）is a member of PKC family,which is activated by calcium ion and lipid diacylglycerol in the presence of phosphatidylserine.It is mainly expressed in the central nervous system and peripheral neurons.PKCγ participates the process of hyperalgesia,pain transduction,changes of LTP in the hippocampus,spatial learning memory,and movement coordination of Purkinje cells.Point mutation of PKCγ gene can induce inherited retinitis pigmentosa,spinocerebellar ataxia and tumors.
