Strengthening the industrial division and cooperation in regional economic integration is an important element in the Yangtze River Delta. In the new century, the industrial division and cooperation have been deepened by marketization, globalization and urbanization, and have formed three basic patterns： the pattern led by MNCs＇ production system, the pattern led by the spatial separation of local enterprises＇ production chain, and the pattern led by a system of loose forms organizational forms. Market has been a dominant force in promoting regional industrial division and cooperation. For the governments, how to promote their propulsion to quicken the industrial division and cooperation should be the focus of further study.
