OBJECTIVE To summarize the studies of vitamin C in the treatment of tumor. METHODS This review, discussed the present research advances of vitamin C, including its pharmacokinetics, pharmacological mecha- nism, application in clinical medicine, some derivatives of vitamin C and their anticancer effect. RESULTS and CONCLUSION Those studies suggest that vitamin C as an antioxidant has the potential for the treatment of canc-er, but further research is still needed to study its application in clinical tumos prevention.
