Tissue factor pathway inhibitor-2 （TFPI-2） is a Kunitz-type serine proteinase inhibitor,and its physiological function and pathological role are still unclear.Because TFPI-2 plays a key role on inhibiting invasions and metastasis of malignant tumor,and vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque rupture is for the same reason of malignant tumor invasions and metastasis,the sight of researchers starts to divert to its role in vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque.Thus we make a review about the role of TFPI-2 in vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque.
