This paper first summarizes the security demands of the RFID system and the locations which need to be protected in this system. Then it introduces the physical security mechanisms and password-based security mechanism of RFID, including kill command, blocker tag, clipped tag, tag pseudonyms, Hash-Lock protocol, randomized Hash-Lock protocol, Hash-Chain protocol, etc. Weak points or flaws in these mechanisms are also examined.
