Based on the description and evaluation of the mostly used satellite channel coding technology, this paper focuses on the principle and performance of the new channel coding technologies, such as Turbo, LDPC, coded modulation, concatenated coding and Raptor coding etc. It has cited the applications of various new channel coding technologies in satellite systems and pointed out the development trend of satellite channel coding technologies,
