Animal product safety was highly concerned in the world. The paper analyzed the problems in preventing epidemic animal diseases based on the demonstration of the importance to strengthen the construction of China＇s epidemic animal disease emergency system. Some ideas and measures were proposed to construct public emergency response system in china, such as setting up specialized agencies and making scientific emergency action plan to response positively to epidemic animal disease risk; increasing the monitoring of the epidemic animal disease and planning scientifically the extermination of animals in epidemic area; establishing a professional team with high quality and efficiency in preventing epidemic animal diseases; improving compensation for damage to support epidemic animal disease emergency processing; increasing the quarantine and risk assessment of the exit-entry animals to prevent effectively the overseas＇ epidemic animal diseases.
