C/C-SiC composite is a new type of high performance brake materials.It has found a wide range of applications in the field of high energy braking for high speed trains,aircraft and heavy vehicles.The several preparation methods of C/C-SiC composites are introduced.The advantage and disadvantage of every method are analyzed.The main results and conclusions concerning the effects of phase composition and service conditions on the friction and wear properties of C/C-SiC composite are summarized and analyzed.The optimization of C/C-SiC brake material is introduced and the focus of the future research is proposed.
