英文摘要：

Along with the industrialization and urbanization process in the Taihu lakeside, the conflict between development demand and protection value is intensified quickly. Based on the investigation and previous studies, the environmentally sensitive area of Taihu lakeside region is divided into biodiversity maintenance sensitive area,water source protection sensitive area,pollution prevention sensitive area,high quality farmland protection sensitive area,potential disaster prevention sensitive area and the historical and cultural preservation sensitive area on the view of resource characteristic and ecological and environmental problems in the Taihu lakeside region. Later the integrated assessment of environmental sensitivity of the Taihu lakeside region is done by GIS spatial analysis method and the spatial distribution of the environmental sensitivity is characterized. According to the assessment results, the Taihu lakeside region is subdivided into four class zones, which is more, a little more, low and lower environmentally sensitive area that can be used to identify every kind area＇ s spatial ftmction in the future.
