This paper finds that we have gained the rapid development of SEI in China and the number of listed enterprises goes up by the year. In terms of numbers the private companies have become an important force for the development of SEI. The main market is the main battlefield of the listed enterprises of SEI in China. The regional distribution and the industrial distribution are not balanced. There are great differences in the investment field of state-owned capital and private capital. The asset size and performance of state owned enterprise on the whole are greater than those of the private enterprise.
