The apoptosis stimulating proteins of p53 (ASPP)gene family bind to p53 which are key players in controlling apoptosis and cell growth. Renal carcinoma is a common malignant tumor in urinary system, and its onset is very insidious, and lack of early clinical manifestations. The main treatment is radical nephrectomy. Renal carcinoma has multi-drug resistance gene and is not sensitive to radiotherapy and chemo- therapy. Now, the study of ASPP gene in renal carcinoma is very scarce, but the role of ASPP2 in renal cell carcinoma has been demonstrated, and the role of the gene family in the tumor is clear. In recent years, the gene target therapy of renal carcinoma has gradually become a new direction for the treatment, which provides new ideas for the early diagnosis and treatment as well.
