A coated-type chiral stationary phase (CSPI) based on amylose tris (4-trifluoromcthoxyphenylcarbamate) was prepared and evaluated for HPLC enantioseparations. Studies revealed that the prepared CSP exhibited lower chiral recognition compared to a widely-used, commercially available column, Chiralpak AD. With less 2-propanol added in the mobile phases, better resolutions were obtained on CSPI. Additionally, when ethanol was used instead of 2-propanol as mobile phase additive, poorer enantioseparations were achieved. This work provides a new polysaccharide-based CSP for HPLC enantioseparation.
