Amide-based nucleating agent developed in recent more than ten years was a novel effective nucleating agent for polypropylene （PP）. It had excellent effects on increasing crystallization peak temperature, accelerating crystallization, reducing spherulite size and improving the optical and mechanical properties of PP. In this paper, research progress of advanced amide-based nucleating agents for PP in recent years was reviewed and the development prospect and trend of this nucleating agents were also put forward.
