A new perspective on the construction of algebraic-geometry codes is provided by function-field codes,which are the generalization of algebraic-geometry codes.In the paper, a class of function-field codes is constructed, and then the corresponding linear codes are obtained.Furthermore, some examples are listed to illustrate that the best known linear codes can be obtained via the function-field codes.
