Attribute reduction is one of the main problems in the study of rough set theory. In a set-valued information system, the information quality and significance of attributes are defined. Properties of them are studied. Relationships between them and attribute reductions are also investigated. Based on which, a heuristic algorithm for obtaining attribute reductions is presented, and the time complexity of the algorithm is also shown. By an example, we show that this algorithm is effective.
