As a novel technology, membrane technologies are widely used in treating the boiler feed water, owing to their high efficiency, rapid and low energy consumption. This review introduced the principle of membrane separation, characteristics of membrane material and processes and current application of the membrane technologies in boiler feed water as a pretreatment and post-treatment technology. In the end, an application prospect was analyzed.
