The development of thermomechanical treatment （TMT） technology of aluminium alloy in the past forty years and the progress in recent years are discussed. The application of TMT technology and the effects of TMT technology on microstructure and mechanical properties of aluminium alloy are introduced in detail. A few problems about TMT technology of aluminium alloy are pointed out, the necessity of test study about TMT technology aluminium alloy is pointed out, and the importance of developing optimal and simply TMT technology of aluminium alloy is also pointed out.
