It was reviewed about the synthesis of hyperbranched polyester, including hyperbranched poly（amine-ester）,hyperbranched poly（amide-ester）, etc. At the same time, the application of this kind of hyperbranched polymer, especially in coating, polymer blending modifier, thermosetting resin toughener, tanning, dyeing and finishing in leather industry, were also introduced. Further more, the prospect of hyperbranched polyester was forecasted.
