In the case of knowing the parameters K, T and δ of ship, ship movement under step steering and linear steering was analysed based on the linear response equation of ship maneuvering, which can be applied to Z-shaped steering of ship to forecast ship movement. In the case of small rudder angle, the prediction results are consistent with the test results of real ship. This method can be used for horizontal manoeuvrability forcast of torpedo and submarine.
