An approach to remote control of DC motor is suggested based on GSM/GPRS.In this method,a C8051F330 MCU generates PWM and switching signals to control a DC motor driver L298N connecting with a DC motor,and finally control the speed of the DC motor by the duty cycle of PWM waveform and the rotation direction by the switching signals,respectively.Furthermore,the C8051F330 MCU builds up a bidirectional communication connection with a GPRS module MC55 by a series port.Therefore,MC55 can first receive remote commands(i.e.,short message concerning the switching signals and the duty cycle of PWM waveform) and then control the DC motor by the C8051F330 MCU.
