One essential basis of the heart excitation and contraction in microcosmic level is the electrophysiological activities of the cardiac cell. Cardiac cell electrophysiological model supports more comprehensive data on the basis of anatomical experiments, and is one of the most efficient methods in heart function and dysfunction research. Recently, the electrophysiological models are more and more detailed in the single cell level, which consequently in depth elucidates the mechanism of the cardiac cell from different aspects. The progress on the electrophysiological model of the cardiac cell is described, a summarization in this field and a discussion of trends is concluded.
