The method of solving the electric potential,field and induced charge distribution of an ellipsoidal conductor in external field is introduced,while some electrostatic characters of an ellipsoidal medium are discussed with some interesting special cases.The research provides some very simple and compact results of ellipsoidal electrostatic problems,further demonstrating the power of ellipsoid coordinates.
