To realize hull form automatic optimization based on CFD, it needs a parametric hullform generation method. A ship modified method based on transformation function is improved in the arti- cle; this method can realize automatic generation of ship hull form only by varying several parameters. Research shows that, as long as suitable for transformation function by choice, and reasonable ranges of parameters, it can ensure the hull form still fairness and other characteristics. Take two different types of hull form transformation of 1300TEU container ships and DTMB5415 for example, it illus- trates the process of hull form transformation based on the transformation functions. The results indi- cate that, the hull form transformation method based on the transformation functions can be applied to the hull form optimization based on the CFD.
