By using the theories and methods of dynamical system and numerical simulation, the (2 + 1 ) -dimensional Boiti-Leon- Pempinelli equations are studied. The phase portraits with different topological structure are obtained. These phase portraits show all bounded orbits clearly, which correspond to the bounded traveling waves of the BLP equations. Furthermore, by calculating complicated elliptic integrals, the elliptic function periodic wave solutions of the BLP equation are obtained.
