Based on the analysis of homology, identity and similarity in expressing the homological relation words of cDNA, DNA, amino acid and protein, we discuss their different meanings in molecular biology. In order to improve the quality of editorial proofreading for the three words, we discussed how to use them accurately in scientific papers.
