Qiang KANG was born in Shenyang in 1979. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Dalian University of Technology in 2001 and 2004, respectively. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate at the Dalian University of Technology. His research interests are adaptive fuzzy control and networked control system. Wel WANG obtained his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Automation from Northeastern University, China, in 1982, 1986 and 1988, respec- tively. He is presently a professor of Department of Automation and the director of Research Center of Information and Control, Dalian University of Technology, China. His research interests are adaptive control, predictive control, nonlinear system control, robotics, computer integrated manufacturing systems, and computer control of industrial process. He has published over 200 papers in international and domestic journals. He was the chairman of IFAC Technical Committee (4.4) of Cost Oriented Automation (2005-2008), and a member of IFAC Technical Committee of Mining, Mineral and Metal Processing (1999-), an associate editor of IFAC Journal: Control Engineering Practice (2007-).
