Nevus of Ota,whieh is also known as eye nevus on the palate fuscocaeruleus, eye dermal melanocytosis,is a kind of common pigment disease in the clinical, and severely influences the psychological health of patients. Although the research on its pathogenesis is still in its initial stage, the therapeu- tic effect of Q-switched Laser is accepted by the public. In this paper, the pathogenesis of the disease and new progress of the laser treatment, as well as the factors affecting the efficacy were reviewed, which may benefit the improvement of efficacy and reduction of side effects in this medical practice.
