As a focus of interspecies relationship, allelopathy was increasingly paid attention to by researchers home and broad. In China, a great progress has been made in this field in recent years. The research history of allelopathy, and the latest development on the bioassays, releasing approaches and action mechanisms were reviewed. Studies showed that allelopathy had effects on forest regeneration, biological invasion and biodiversity etc.
