The effects of the supporting and retaining structure of deep foundation pit engineering in soft soil foundation is difficult to be calculated and measured accurately, with its uncertainty and complexity. According to the analysis under different theoretical methods for various excavation procedures, this paper proposed the deformation and bending moment effects of the supporting structure, through a big soft ground deep excavation project, which is under construction. Together there was a comparison study with the site monitoring data. The structure characteristics in different excavation conditions were studied. The paper emphasized that the calculation of the deep foundation pit in soft ground needs to be analyzed through comprehensive methods and calculated, with different professional software programs. The results of this paper can be used as a guide, to forecast the deforma-tion and internal forces, as well as the evaluation of safety and excavation projects.
