For the gold-bearing ores of sidaogou submine of Wulong Gold Mine in liaoning province, major factors affecting gold leaching system with OCl^- -I^- were investigated. Optimum conditions obtained for OCl^- -I^- leaching system were that the dosage of sodium hypochlorite accounted for 7% -9% of pulp volume, the concentration of potassium io- dide was not less than 0.25 tool/L, the pH value was acidic to neutral and leaching time was 4 h. Under these conditions the leaching rate of gold was above 85%.
