Efficiency pellet bed was used for the treatment of low turbidity water, and the starting conditions were discussed. It was determined that sediment with pH 7.31, Zeta potential - 1.28 mV, weight 624 g would be dosed to the efficiency pellet bed. The optimal starting conditions were： dosage of PAC 3.0 to 3.2 mg/L,dosage of PAM 0.42 mg/L,sludge return ratio about 4.8% when the influent was 2 040 to 2 720 L/h.
