Objective： Study on the diaphoresis, antitussive and diuresis activity of polysaccharide from F.phedra sinica Stapf. Methods：Ammonia water induced cough model, mice colouring method, and filter paper method were used to detect the cough re lieving rate, sweating colouring points and urine output. Results： The polysaceharide high （132mg/kg） or low （66mg/kg） dose group had higher activity of diaphoresis and antitussive than the distilled water negative control group, but had lower diuresis activity than the distilled water negative control group. Conclusion：The polysaccharide has the activity of diaphoresis and antitussive, and is a part of effective components of Ephedra sinica Stapf.
