Bao-Jian Wu was born in Henan Province, China, in 1970. He received the M.S. (1996) and Ph.D. (1999) degrees in applied physics from Sichuan University and Shanghai Jiaotong University, China, respectively. He is currently a professor of optical fiber communication fields with Key Lab of Broadband Optical Fiber Transmission and Communication Networks of the Ministry of Education, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). His research interests include microwave magneto-optics, optical waveguide devices, optical fiber communications, and optical signal processing. He has coauthored over 50 papers published in journals and international conferences. He is involved in several national and international research projects and co-operations. Ying Yang was born in Sichuan Province, China, in 1983. She received the B.S. degree from the Chongqing University, ,Chongqing, in 2006. She is currently pursuing the M.S. degree with UESTC. Her research interests include fiber Bragg gratings and its applications to optical communications. Kun Qiu was born in Yunnan Province, China, in 1964. He received the M.S. (1987) and Ph.D. (1990) degree from Tsinghua University and was the Director of the State key Lab of Broadband Optical Transmission and Communication Network from 2002 to 2006. His research interests include fiber optic communication theory and techniques. As the research team leader, he has finished more than 20 important projects. He is the owner of eight awards of science and technology progress from province or national ministries. He is the author or coauthor of more than 200 scientific papers and the book of "Introduction of Optical Communication".
