Cognitive radio is viewed as a novel communication way, which can effectively improve spectrum utilization. In this paper, some key techniques involved in cognitive radio research are discussed such as radio parameters optimization, wideband spectrum sensing and wideband transmission. The emphatical research directions for these techniques on are also presented.
