The Stochastic timed Petri net model is constructed for the vehicle traffic system in a cross-road. In the model, roads are described as resource places, and the events, arriving in and departing from the cross road at the Poisson distributional interval, are depicted as timed transitions, Based on this model, the vehicle traffic system simulation platform is developed in VB language. It can simulate the dynamic process of the vehicle traffic system in a cross road, and may be utilized to verify the vehicle traffic schedule algorithms.
